Full Play

Playfulness need not be light
In a two fingers up to the incomprehensible sprawl of life
a destructive nature may take flight
No, playfulness need not be light

A ludic push at the boundary, taking control
Freedom muscles stretched
we strain for pattern, a coup the whole
Autonomy tested
No longer arrested by fixed realities
we topple into lucid darkness

Playfulness need not be light
Smash it, snap it, bend crash and cover
Dig fiercely
Colonize it in play, claim the disarray
Flick out the mat of illusion
Frolic and dominate as fusion
Spiral on thread-less patterns
Loose the cords, leave it frayed as you
Dance unfettered on the Material

Essential hallucinations of play
What I do matters!
I am my own master
See how I conjour, create and destroy
Stroll tangentially to land ahoy
Walk on water
Don't need to be taught a
serendipitous voyage
I am Captain of contour
I choose the storms

For there is lightness to play
An alchemy at play
This divine spirit is a pool of innocence
We sail through the waters of knowledge and experience
until we meet the shore
Where we are silently stopped
by a closed door
There play
All at once insensible to every structure except one
Licensed agency lapping at that solid shore
Again, again and again
Re-inventing
Spinning at the loom of connections
Frequency as hope

Until, by feigning freedom the shore crumbles and recedes
Another horizon pushed back
                        by the playfully persistent
